Why From Candy to Kale?
Because I'm a lifelong candy addict, yes addict, who is now a health & wellness coach and must eat more kale than candy (boo!). My earliest memories involve candy and lots of it. It was the way to my heart as a wee girl and boy did my dad want my heart. Lick-A-Maid, Ju Ju Bes, Skittles, Starbursts, Red Vines, you name it, I ate it. I didn't prefer things of the chocolate variety, no, I was more of what we call in my family, a mainline sugar junkie. Nice, huh? Well it's true and now as I strive to live a healthier lifestyle, I still struggle with the sugary white devil. It's all about balance, right?! Or so I tell myself...
In my spare time, when I'm not having a blast as the General Manager of a local running store in Portland or inspiring peeps on their own journey to health, you'll find me running, hiking, biking, yoga'ing and yammering on and on about my dog (Brooklyn!), health food and my love of all things veg. My mantra in life is simple: Have fun, be kind, live by example, better yourself every day, and be the inspiration for someone else to reach their dreams. #nbd.
